If it's a complicated business or commercial case of any kind, we have undoubtedly handled a similar case and more than likely taken it to trial.

KIRBY NOONAN LANCE & HOGE, LLP FOR MORE THAN THREE DECADES, THE CIVIL LITIGATION boutique of Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge, LLP has represented top names in both plaintiff and defense lawsuits involving nearly every major industry. It has earned a reputation as the “go-to” firm for trying business and commercial cases, often involving complex securities, real estate, antitrust and unfair competition disputes.
TRIAL EXPERTS While many firms practice business litigation, few try as many commercial cases as Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge, and much of the firm’s work comes from referrals by other attorneys.  Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge often gets brought in on a case that has been handled by another firm just before it goes to trial. In one such instance, founding partner Michael L. Kirby was brought into a case pending in Florida only one week before the start of trial and successfully tried the case to a jury verdict in favor of his client. “When clients or other lawyers refer their client or a case to us, they know that they’re getting someone who has a high levelof expertise in trying complex cases,” says Kirby.
Three Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge partners are active members of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a group whose eligibility requirements include taking the equivalent of 20 civil jury trials to verdict before being considered formembership. Two partners have held positions of leadership in that organization. Kirby serves on ABOTA’s National Board of Directors, and David J. Noonan is a past president of the local ABOTA chapter and the San Diego County Bar Association.  This year the firm once again proudly recognizes four of its own: Charles T. Hoge, Kirby, James R. Lance and Noonan (Top 50, Top 10) for being selected by their peers to the San Diego Super Lawyers® list.
AREAS OF PRACTICE “We’re seeing more and more real estate litigation, and as the subprime lending crisis goes on and gets worse, that’s certainly going to be an area of increased litigation,” says Kirby, who has devoted the better part of the last twoyears to a series of real investment cases.
The firm also litigates many “intercorporate” disputes—those between corporations but also ones involving management and investors or an executive or former executive and the corporate employer.
Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge’s growth has taken it to new offices directly overlooking Petco Park field this year, and the firm celebrates its continued success on behalf of its many and long-term clients.
